Sentivel has an importer for Atlassian Statuspage and Instatus. It copies your components and their groups, your incident history with every update, and your confirmed email subscribers. You paste an API key and the import runs once. Running it again is safe: anything already imported is skipped.
What the importer moves
- Components, with their current status, and their groups recreated as sections on your Sentivel page.
- Incident history, up to the 500 most recent incidents, with every customer-facing update.
- Confirmed email subscribers, so customers keep getting notified without signing up again.
Scheduled maintenance isn't imported. The importer tells you how many maintenance windows it skipped so you can recreate the upcoming ones. Monitors aren't created either, because Statuspage has no monitoring to copy. You add them afterwards.
Step 1: Get your Statuspage API key and page ID
In Statuspage, open your avatar menu and choose API info. Copy the API key and the page ID next to it. For Instatus, create a key under Developer settings. The page ID is in the dashboard URL.
Step 2: Run the import
In Sentivel, go to Status pages and choose Import from Statuspage or Instatus. Pick the source, paste the key and page ID, choose the Sentivel page to import into, and press Import. The key is used for this one fetch and isn't stored. A summary lists what was added and what was skipped.
Step 3: Attach monitors
Imported components have their history but no checks. Add an HTTP, keyword, TCP or heartbeat monitor to each component you want checked. Its status then follows real checks, and a single failed check doesn't open an incident.
Step 4: Map your third-party dependencies
Statuspage can change a third-party component's status for you. In Sentivel you link your own components to the providers they rely on (AWS, Stripe, Cloudflare and others in the catalog). When a linked provider has an incident, Sentivel posts an advisory on your page naming the provider and removes it when the provider resolves the incident.
Step 5: Move your domain
In the page's custom domain settings, point your status subdomain's CNAME at Sentivel and verify it. The page is then live at the address customers already use. Keep your Statuspage subscription until you've checked the new page, then cancel it.
