SMS Terms & Messaging Policy

Last updated 2 July 2026

These terms describe Sentivel's text-message (SMS) program: the operational alerts we send, how you opt in, and how to get help or stop messages at any time. Sentivel is an incident monitoring and on-call paging tool; our texts are transactional service messages to the people who set up alerting — we never send marketing texts.

The messaging program

When a service you monitor with Sentivel has a problem, we page the responders you've put on call. If a responder has added and verified their mobile number, one of the ways we reach them is by SMS. We also text a one-time code when you verify a number. That is the entire program — account and security messages, and incident / on-call alerts.

How you opt in (the specific path)

SMS is opt-in and per person. Each responder opts in for their own number, from inside their own account:

  • Sign in and go to Account → Profile.
  • Enter your mobile number and choose Save & verify. The consent disclosure is shown at this step.
  • We text a 6-digit code to that number; entering it confirms you own the number and completes opt-in. We only ever text a number that has been verified this way.

The exact consent shown at that step: “By saving and verifying your number, you agree to receive SMS incident and on-call alerts from Sentivel. Message frequency varies with your alerts. Standard message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.”

Message frequency

Message frequency varies — it depends on your alerting activity (how often the services you're responsible for have incidents and how your escalation is configured), so there is no fixed number of messages. During a quiet period you may receive none; during an incident you may receive several.

Cost

Sentivel does not charge you for text messages, but message and data rates may apply from your mobile carrier depending on your plan.

Getting help & opting out (HELP / STOP)

Reply HELP to any message to get help and our contact details. For questions you can also email support@sentivel.com.

Reply STOP at any time to opt out and stop all SMS from Sentivel to your number; you'll get a one-time confirmation and then no further texts. You can also remove or turn off SMS for your number any time in Account → Profile. Opting out of SMS doesn't remove you from a workspace — you can still be reached by email (and, if configured, voice call).

Your mobile information & privacy

Your mobile information (including your number and opt-in) will not be sold or shared with third parties for promotional or marketing purposes. We disclose your number only to the messaging provider that delivers these texts on our behalf, solely to send the messages you asked for.

For the full detail — what we collect, our sub-processors, and your rights — see our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
